The OpenOffice.org CD contains all of the software required to perform a basic install of OpenOffice.org 2 on most operating systems (Linux, Windows, Mac OS X and Solaris).

OpenOffice.org is a multi-platform and multi-lingual open source office suite. It is compatible with all other major office suites. More information can be found on the OpenOffice.org web site.

OpenOffice.org System Requirements

Microsoft Windows: 

• Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000 (Service Pack 2 or higher), Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista (enhanced Vista integration from version 2.2)
• 128 MB RAM
• At least 800 MB available disk space for a default install (including a JRE) via download. After installation and deletion of temporary installation files, OpenOffice.org will use approximately 440 Mbytes disk space
• 800 x 600 or higher resolution with at least 256 colours  

GNU/Linux ("Linux"): 

• Linux kernel version 2.2.13 or higher, glibc2 version 2.2.0 or higher
• 128 MB RAM
• 200 MB available disk space
• X-Server with 800 x 600 or higher resolution with at least 256 colours

Mac OS X (X11): 

• Power Mac G3 400Mhz or higher
• Mac OS X 10.3.x (10.3.5 recommended), Mac OS X 10.4.x
• 256Mbytes RAM
• 400Mbytes available disk space

The programs run in Windows and cover the most common tasks such as word processing, presentations, e-mail, web browsing, web design, and image manipulation. We include only the highest quality programs which have been carefully tested for stability, and which we consider appropriate for a wide audience.
